About Us

Leap is a 35 year-old nonprofit arts education organization based in San Francisco. Our mission is to provide top quality arts education programs that help students build skills to achieve their fullest potential. We envision a world where the arts are an essential part of every child's education.

Leap's programs give children the opportunity to work with and learn from a professional artist in the classroom environment. Dynamic educators who are professional painters, sculptors, performers, musicians, dancers and architects represent Leap in schools. Leap's programs in the arts are custom designed to fit individual school needs, meet state standards and to integrate the arts into the academic curriculum. During the 2014-15 school year, Leap served approximately 6,600 children in 26 local elementary schools (San Francisco, San Mateo and Alameda counties). Leap's programs are proven to help students build self-confidence, increase their academic performance, and develop skills which are necessary for success in the 21st century, such as creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration.
