  • Mission

The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

    About Us

The Heart of Virginia Council, Scouting America, serves 7000+ youth and 3,300+ adult volunteers across Central Virginia, covering 24 counties in the Tidewater and Piedmont regions. We provide age appropriate activities for kids ages 5-20. Scouting activities are designed for kids to have fun while they learn new skills, develop their character, practice leadership, and try new things. Scouting improves kids' self esteem as they develop skills to overcome obstacles while challenging themselves to achieve attainable goals.
