    About Us

Founded in 1948, Visiting Nurse Health System is Georgia’s largest nonprofit provider of home healthcare and hospice services for more than 6,000 patients and their families each day, helping people recover their health, live with chronic conditions, or die with dignity. Our quality one-on-one care blends state-of-the-art expertise, cost-effective technology and old-fashioned hands-on care to reduce emergency room visits, hospitalizations and nursing home placement. Every year the generous support of our donors allows us to improve access to care for low income patients and create better outcomes for patients with special needs. Our services include home health, hospice, palliative, Community Care programs including SOURCE, CCSP and HCBS, Private Duty, and Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s respite care. Our patients facing the end of life receive comfort and compassion in hospice services provided at home. Our volunteers visit with hospice patients, assist with administrative tasks, provide bereavement support for families, or help with fundraising and building awareness.
