AUSTIN CELTIC ASSOCIATION

  • Mission

The Austin Celtic Association is a non-profit organization established to celebrate and promote Celtic culture through music, dance, language, theatre, sports, history, and the arts in Central Texas. Since 1997, we have helped share the Celtic culture of Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, Nova Scotia, Wales, and other countries with Austin and Central Texas, through our annual festival and cultural events.

    About Us

The Festival has grown exponentially over the past several years and the Festival now attracts from 6000 to 10,000 attendees. This two-day event focuses on the cultures of the Celtic nations and their immigrants in the USA. The festival consists of a large number of artistic events and performances including four stages of music (international, regional and local), dance, and storytelling. Also, there are full competition Highland Games, hurling, sheep-herding demonstrations, Celtic dog parades, and historical playscapes from ancient Irish villages to Viking battle performances. Also contained at the Festival is the established ACF School of Traditional Arts, where local musicians can spend time in workshops learning from the genre’s most celebrated musicians, dancers, and lecturers.
