Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition
The Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition is a statewide membership organization dedicated to ensuring that all Vermonters have decent, safe, and affordable housing, particularly the state's low-income residents, elders, and people with disabilities. The 80-plus Coalition members represent most of Vermont's nonprofit affordable housing developers, housing and homeless advocacy groups, public housing authorities, funders, and other organizations and individuals with an interest in affordable housing. Members of VAHC provide housing and services to tens of thousands of Vermonters. The Coalition pursues its mission through five major activities: education of local, state, and federal officials; outreach and coalition-building among broad interests in the field; training and workshops for housing professionals; community education and public relations; and research on affordable housing issues and serving as an information clearing house.
