The DAASV, founded in 2019, is a statewide, nonprofit organization that serves as Delaware’s
federally recognized state sexual assault coalition. The DAASV’s mission is to address sexual
violence in Delaware by creating an inclusive community throughout the state to support
survivors through advocacy and intervention. The DAASV provides a voice for victims of sexual
violence, sexual assault programs, victim service providers, and advocates. Through public
education, training and technical assistance, and advocacy on the behalf of survivors for policy
changes, the DAASV serves as a critical hub for resources and information on sexual violence.
The DAASV is a newly formed organization with plans to engage in a variety of activities focused on
changing the societal conditions and attitudes that contribute to sexual violence. These activities
will focus on public education efforts, training and technical assistance, prevention and policy
initiatives and systems advocacy. In order to create the most effective policies and programs for
survivors, the DAASV will collaborate with the criminal justice, health care, education, advocacy,
and social service communities to facilitate critical networks for social change.
