Assumption College Graduate Studies

Assumption College is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, New England's second largest city, approximately 50 minutes west of Boston and home to 12 colleges and more than 20,000 students. The campus is nestled on 185 park-like acres in a safe and serene section of the city, approximately three miles from downtown. Located in the heart of New England, Worcester is listed on Forbes.com as one of the top-ten most livable cities in the country and five-time recipient of the All-America City Award.
Assumption is a vital college and its involvement in Worcester and the surrounding community sets the standard for local colleges. The undergraduates spent more than 70,000 hours in local community service through Community Service Learning courses, Campus Ministry, and the Reach Out Center. When considering the activities of graduate students, faculty and staff, the volunteer hours rise to 117,000. This is one of the reasons that Assumption was again named to the 2012 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the federal government's highest recognition for community engagement, for the second consecutive year.
Graduate programs include:
1. Counseling Psychology, the premier graduate level program in the nation specializing in CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy);
2. Rehabilitation Counseling, nationally ranked program renowned for graduating leaders in the field (both on-line and on-campus programs available);
3. School Counseling, offering a combined MA & CAGS in School Counseling & School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor;
4. Special Education,empowering future special education teachers with tool and experience; and
5. MBA, offering blended evening and full-time Early Career Track options.
In addition to the evening program, the MBA offers a full-time option for both business and non-business majors: Early Career Track MBA.The Early Career Track MBA with Management Emphasis is a one year full-time program which offers a real-world internship experience supported by business mentors. The Early Career Track MBA with Accounting Emphasis is also a one year full-time program ideally suited for recent graduates with an accounting major. It’s “the MBA to get your CPA.” Students enroll in a CPA Exam Review course and any Foundation courses needed and obtain the education, career mentor experience, and skills necessary for a CPA license.
Ranked in the U.S. News & World Report’s “2014 Best Colleges” guide of approximately 200 universitites in the north that offer bachelor's and master's degrees, Assumption College is ranked at #30.
