  • Mission

For more than 80 years, The Old Newsboys Christmas Fundraiser volunteers have hawked a special edition of The Post-Standard at various locations (stores, malls, businesses) around Onondaga County. The newspapers are donated. 100% of the money collected from the sale of these newspapers goes to The Salvation Army/United Way’s Christmas Bureau to buy toys for children and food for Central New York families in need during the holidays.

    About Us

Old Newsboys was launched by The Post-Standard in 1932 to raise money to help those in the community who are in need. In 1932 volunteers raised $1,800. which was used to buy coal to heat the homes of the poor. In 1933 all the money raised went to the Christmas Toy Fund. Last year, $50,000 was raised and donated to the Salvation Army / United Way Christmas Bureau.
