PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE BLACK ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT INC

  • Mission

The Black Arts District through an anti-displacement framework empowers Black creatives and continues the community-based revitalization efforts in West Baltimore through culture, arts, and entertainment.

    About Us

Rooted in the history of the iconic Pennsylvania Avenue corridor, once known as the "Harlem of Baltimore" we honor this legacy while building a thriving future for artists and the broader community. Key programs include public art installations, cultural events like the Black Artists Fair, Baltimore Blaq Pride, Project RestART, and the ambitious $18M Sanaa Center Project-a transformative arts and cultural development project featuring performance spaces, galleries, and artists studios in the heart of West Baltimore. Over the years, we have achieved significant milestones, including engaging over 13,000 community members annually, hosting hundreds of cultural events, and supporting hundreds of artists with opportunities to grow professionally and share their talents. By volunteering with us, you’ll be part of a movement that uplifts local talent, strengthens community bonds, and ensures the rich cultural legacy of Pennsylvania Avenue and beyond continues to inspire generations to come.
