Hostel Beirut is a government-approved NGO based in Beirut, Lebanon that works as an incubator for social businesses dealing with the refugee crisis here. Our goal is to attract entrepreneurs and volunteers from abroad to build businesses and programs to assist the refugee population. We believe in the power of immigrants and newcomers to bring disruptive solutions to problems, and our goal is to connect the vulnerable populations with innovators who could positively impact their lives. Our first project is a recycling business that aims to employ refugees to pick up recyclable material from homes and businesses that would otherwise discard them. This will provide jobs, business opportunities for locals, and, hopefully, make Lebanon a greener place. Future projects will focus on education and healthcare.
