Ramapo for Children has an extraordinary track record serving children and the adults who work with them. Through direct service youth programs and highly regarded training programs for adults, Ramapo works on behalf of children who face obstacles to learning and provides a toolbox of skills for helping children and young adults align their behaviors with their aspirations. Ramapo’s four primary programs are:
- Camp Ramapo: a residential summer camp in Rhinebeck, New York that serves over 550 children with social, emotional, and learning challenges. Each summer, we also train over 200 counselors and staff.
- Ramapo Training: provides educators, youth workers, and parents with practical tools for managing difficult behaviors and fostering environments that support success for all children. Each year, Ramapo Training serves more than 300 schools and agencies and trains over 10,000 educators, youth workers, and parents.
- Staff Assistant Experience: a residential transition-to-independence program for young adults with social, emotional, or learning challenges.
- Ramapo Retreats: short-term, adventure-based experiences for young people, educators, and community-based organizations that provide strategies for successful communication, teamwork, and leadership. Ramapo Retreats works with over 150 schools and agencies each year, serving over 8,000 participants.
