    About Us

SPAN, Special Program for Aging Needs, is a private, non-profit organization established in 1974 to provide services to senior citizens in Denton County. Services include:

    • Meals on Wheels: Home Delivered Meals: Trained volunteer staff deliver nutritious daily meals to homebound seniors. Meals are delivered throughout Denton County from pick up sites located in Denton, Lewisville, Carrollton, Little Elm, The Colony, Pilot Point, Sanger, and Krum. These daily visits by volunteers also provide social interaction for the recipients.
    • Meals at Senior Centers: For those 60+ years of age, this service provides daily meals and the opportunity to enjoy other seniors at seven Senior Centers in Denton County.
    • Senior Paws: The goal of Senior Paws is to support the needs of Meals on Wheels clients by providing monthly pet food supplements. Senior Paws will help to ensure that seniors are not sharing their daily meals with their beloved companions when they are unable to afford or transport enough pet food.
