About Us

Grameena Vikas Kendram Society for Rural Development (GVK Society) is an innovative Indian NGO based in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, South India.

We strive for the upliftment of small and marginal farming communities, tribals and women in India while regenerating their environment. We design and implement community-driven initiatives that optimize value for peasant farmers and other downtrodden rural households by nurturing producer organisations, value addition, infrastructure, up marketing and perpetual innovation. GVK Society’s models propel collectivism, collaboration and co-creation to build futuristic value chain communities. We are a new generation non-profit organisation that blends entrepreneurship with social responsibility.

Key projects within GVK Society’s portfolio are:

Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF): We support farmers to shift from chemicals to low cost, climate resilient natural farming. Within 3 years we will be reaching out to 10.000 farmers. The Government of A.P is providing financial backstopping and we are presently changing gears to introduce innovations for impact.

Regenerate the Environment Society and Economy through Textiles (RESET): We build the world’s first regenerative cotton value chain that tackles climate change and improves the living standards of small farmers. We will be reaching out to 15.000 farmers within the coming 5 years. At present we are working in 27 tribal villages with 250 farmers.

HESPERIDIN: We are the first in India to create additional income opportunity for small sweet orange farmers and women laborers from aborted fruits that otherwise go as waste. We will be reaching out to 10.000 families in the next 3 years.
