Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum
The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum remains the only children’s museum in our fifteen-county region and one of only seven children’s museums in the state of Virginia (and 341 worldwide!) Through a rich variety of interactive, hands-on exhibits and educational programs, the Museum strives to increase each child’s chances for success in school and in life. It is a centerpiece not only of the Winchester community, but also of the larger Shenandoah Valley. Since opening its doors in 1996, over a half million visitors have enjoyed the Museum’s informal, fun, and play-filled learning environment.
Come visit Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or on Sundays from 1 until 5 p.m. Admission fees are $8 per person for ages 2 and older; musuem members enter free of charge. The museum is located at 19 W. Cork Street on the downtown walking mall in Winchester (just across from the new splash pad!)
