About Us

The UIC Gender and Sexuality Center's mission is to create a more inclusive campus and catalyze positive social change. Through innovative programs, interactive workshops, special events, and the sharing of resources, we challenge heteronormativity and promote deeply engaged and life affirming thinking, learning, and action. We serve students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members throughout Chicago of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.

 

The Gender and Sexuality Center is one of the seven Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change. The seven centers include the African-American Cultural Center, Arab American Cultural Center, Asian American Resource and Cultural CenterDisability Cultural Center, Gender and Sexuality Center, Rafael Cintrón Ortiz Latino Cultural Center, the Women’s Leadership and Resource Center. We report to the Office of Diversity in Academic Affairs.
