  • About Us

HealthConnect One (HC One) is the national leader in advancing respectful, community-based, peer-to-peer support for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and early parenting. HC One trains community health workers, builds the capacity of local advocates to gather community support, guides the development of new and sustainable community programs, and directly mobilizes diverse stakeholders to support policies and programs that improve maternal and child health.

Since 1986, HC One has trained thousands of parents, community health workers and direct service providers to promote breastfeeding, provide pregnancy and birthing support, and prevent infant mortality, with significant documented results. In addition, HC One assists organizations in developing and implementing innovative, research-based initiatives that directly impact health disparities, and is probably best-known for its breastfeeding peer counselor and community-based doula program models.
