  • About Us

Founded in 1896, the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) is the only animal shelter in Washtenaw County that takes in all types of unwanted, injured, lost, stray, abandoned, and abused animals. Each year we help over 10,000 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals. Our shelter accepts any animal from Washtenaw County and Canton, adopts pets (see some of our cats and dogs online), and maintains lost and found pet information. Our clinic provides low-cost pet care & sterilization. And we hold special events regularly to raise funds for the animals.
