  • About Us

PlayPumps Europe is working to provide access to clean drinking water to approximately 10 million people in sub-Saharan Africa by donating 4000 PlayPump® water systems to communities in ten sub-Saharan African countries. The PlayPump water system is a roundabout water pump which pumps water into a storage tank as children spin it.

As of January 2009 more than 1200 PlayPump water systems are installed in South Africa, Lesotho, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zambia. In the coming years we will be working to install PlayPump systems in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Malawi..

Provision of clean water improves health, facilitates development and allows young women to attend school rather than spend their days walking to collect water.
