    For over 70 years The Wilderness Society (The Society), a national non-profit conservation organization, has been at the forefront of nationwide efforts to protect wilderness and inspire Americans to care for our wild places; and since its inception protecting the Arctic has been a core priority of the organization. The Society’s Alaska Regional Office has a long history of successfully protecting forests, oceans, and Arctic ecosystems that are critical to the well-being of the people of Alaska. The Alaska Regional Office works closely with The Society’s national office in Washington, D.C. as well as with Program Leadership Teams throughout the organization to accomplish the region’s goals.
