About Us

SoCal CAN's mission is to cultivate a network of stakeholders who together will increase the number of low-income students accessing and completing college.

Our Core Beliefs:

  • College is a Necessity - Postsecondary education is a prerequisite to success in a knowledge-based economy. Everyone must pursue and complete a postsecondary credential or degree beyond high school.
  • College is for Everyone - Postsecondary attainment rates among low-income students are significantly lower than those of other students. We are seeking to change that.
  • College is a Public Good - Postsecondary educational opportunity and attainment are critical to a just and equitable society, strong economy, and healthy communities.

We believe we can achieve more for our students when we commit to working together. At SoCal CAN, we are creating a network of passionate individuals and organizations committed to the success of low-income students through the completion of a higher education degree. Although the road to college is paved with numerous challenges for our community, we are emboldened by the resources and connections that exist within our diverse network of over 70 organizations.

SoCal CAN is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Partners.
