NGO Help and Travel

We are on a mission to spread volunteering in Ukraine and promote cultural exchange among youth in Europe and beyond.

We started as a project back in 2012 and implemented a pilot version of Help and Travel Tour in summer 2013.

Active, enthusiastic and fun people 18-26 years old who aspire to improvements and do them = volunteers Help and Travel.

Initially, it was a big bus with 23 volunteers who traveled to rural areas to help communities in villages and small towns and explore the beauty of unseen regions of Ukraine.

The tour gained its popularity, in part due to the format: 1 bus, 6 regions, 7 days, each summer.  We also made shorter routes happen; these projects were organized by Help and Travel alumni who wantedto continue the idea of a volunteer bus (including a project in Crimea, 2014).

Since then, we have conducted 8 tours in 22 regions with almost 50 rural locations visited and 100+ Help and Travel volunteers participating. Hundreds of other people joined, over $30,000 in grants (and IndieGoGo) have been raised.

What we did: clean-ups, construction of playgrounds, renovations of schools, museums and historic sights, etc. However, we have been realistic with ourselves, knowing from the very beginning that one-week summer tours are not enough to make a real difference. In order to address existing problems in the Ukrainian society, we established an NGO this year (2016).

Our priorities are volunteering, youth exchange, and innovation.

Today, we need some capital to be able to boost our ideas and turn our visions in projects that will have tangible, concrete results.
