About Us

Established on January 15, 1988. In 1992, Virginia CURE began the journey as an effective and respected voice in bringing attention to challenging criminal justice and prison issues that might otherwise be ignored. To accomplish its goals, leaders network with other organizations and the Executive and Legislative branches of Virginia government. Virginia CURE also networks with other organizations to address issues such as the costs of telephone calls from prisons, shackling of pregnant prisoners, and ex felon voting rights.

We support a safe, peaceful Virginia for all citizens by meeting public safety responsibilities for restoration of crime victims, the offenders, the affected families, and the community at large. Our objective is to provide information, support, and resources, to serve as an effective voice in gaining public attention for positive changes and improvements in policies and laws.
