Founded in 1903, the YWCA Greensboro has served as a driving force for social change and advocacy on
behalf of the community's most vulnerable and marginalized people. For over 120 years, we have served
adults and children through an extensive array of educational and supportive programs, racial justice, anti
violence, and economic advancement programs while facilitating community conversations around women's
rights, healthcare, voting rights, homelessness, and more. The YWCA Greensboro has assisted the
community by helping people through a devastating flu epidemic, leading the way to the development of the
local County Health Department, providing childcare for children of domestic workers, providing support for
teen and at-risk mothers, establishing programs aimed at helping women obtain financial stability, and
sheltering families with children experiencing homelessness.
