The IAAS was initiated by an ethnically and geographically diverse group of people with a desire to bring diverse literary voices and resources into our communities. Representing the business, artistic, teaching and literary communities, our board members have always believed that a need exists to provide literary artists and the public with dynamic programming outside the traditional constraints of mainstream media, thereby filling a void in print, television and on the internet, making multicultural literature and literacy more accessible than ever before.
Our main program initiative at this time is 2Leaf Press (www.2leafpress.org). 2Leaf Press challenges the status quo by publishing alternative fiction, non‐fiction, poetry and bilingual works by activists, academics, poets and authors. We are especially dedicated to publishing scholarship regarding diversity and social justice that is accessible to the general public.
