    Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRAI) was founded in Iran in 2006 to monitor and report on human rights concerns inside the country. The organization established its non-for-profit status in the U.S. in 2010. Since its creation, HRAI has produced thousands of records including statistical reports regarding the violation of fundamental rights of Iranians by Iranian government. Dr. Ahmed Shahid- United Nations special rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran-  ranked HRAI among the top three most influential human rights organizations focused on Iran, in his 2014 report to the United Nation Human Rights Council.
