  • About Us

We generate knowledge by funding and conducting research and evaluation, and by managing, linking, and analyzing data. We measure the impact of how we influence positive changes for children and families.

PolicyWise is a charitable, not-for-profit corporation. We are managed by a President and CEO and governed by a dedicated Board of Directors. Our employees are experts in applied research and evaluation, data science, knowledge mobilization, communications, and administration.

    Our Approach

Our approach is collaborative. We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our funders, stakeholders, and the research community.

As an organization committed to learning, evaluation of our own work allows us to learn, adapt, and improve our activities and outcomes. Measuring our impact also improves our ability to mobilize evidence, which we define as, “information derived from a range of sources (e.g., experience, evaluation, research, context) that has been subjected to testing and is found to be credible.”

    Who We Work With

There are cross-sectoral stakeholders that influence child well-being. As a result, our work often involves working closely with:

    • all of Alberta’s Government ministries
    • community agencies
    • educational institutions
    • organizations from across Canada and internationally
