  • About Us

The history of Native Americans is one of great strength, revitalization and balance. The Colorado Indigenous Peoples Day organization is part of an effort to recognize and honor the existence, culture and contributions of the Indigenous Peoples of the world while acknowledging the bloody history of colonization and amplifying important indigenous values, such as a respect for life, that are not prevalent in today’s society.

Calm Downs is an exciting new company practicing social enterprise and business development under the motto “Capital for Liberation”. We have invested in companies and subsidiaries employing strategies that seek to address structural inequalities, such as redlining, that are socially conscious and that contribute to the common good of our communities. Current initiatives include partnerships with the City and County of Boulder in support of Indigenous Peoples Day. Additionally, Calm Downs supports an allied community art space with a bodhisattva mission called Flatirons Political Art, as well as forays into journalism, strategic communications, and film production.
