Idaho Horse Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abused, abandoned and neglected horses. IHR also provides public education on equine care. According to the American Horse Council, Americans own more than 9 million horses. More than one-third of horse owners have a household income of less than $50,000. This can unfortunately equate to a situation where families suddenly find it difficult to care for their animals, resulting in an increase in the amount of neglected and abandoned horses we encounter. IHR aims to provide a pathway for these horses to a better home. At IHR, we offer a secure environment where suffering horses can mend both physical and emotional wounds while receiving the feed, veterinary care, and training they need before they can find their forever adoptive homes.
