Uweza Aid Foundation

  • About Us

Uweza Aid Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports and manages projects in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya. Our current projects include home visits to HIV positive individuals and families, business start-ups for HIV positive women, school sponsorship, a soccer academy, and a school.

Uweza is a Swahili word meaning opportunity, ability and power. Our goal is to support, manage and bring awareness to grassroots initiatives that give Kenyans the resources to succeed in life and give back to their communities. We try to focus on sustainable solutions (e.g. counseling services, educational scholarships, income opportunities) as opposed to hand-outs. All of our projects are developed and/or run on the ground by Kenyans.
