  • Mission

    The Fort Lee Public Library, established in 1919, has been housed in its present facility at Main and Center since 1971. The building was enlarged by a 9,000 square foot addition in 1997, increasing the total space to 30,000 square feet with parking for seventy-five cars. The Library is open seven days a week and welcomes an average of over 23,000 visitors per month.

    About Us

    The Library’s collection contains books, media, newspapers and periodicals totaling over 130,000 items and includes materials in Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Digital collections include ebooks, audiobooks, movies, tv, music and magazines (also in Korean). Databases provide access to Ancestry.com, language instruction through Rosetta Stone & Pronunciator, Valueline, ReferenceUSA, NY Times and EBSCOhost for popular & scholarly magazine articles. As a member of BCCLS (Bergen County Cooperative Library System), a Fort Lee resident has access to 5.5 million items from 76 member libraries.

    Programs and services are offered for all ages throughout the year and feature reference assistance, reader’s advisory, storytime, crafts, concerts, book discussions, ESL instruction, computer classes, volunteer opportunities and much more. In addition the Library offers free WiFi, public computers, wireless printing and a museum pass program.
