Greenbrier Residents for Outreach to the World, Inc.

The GROW Project is a non profit group seeking to support communities tackle the root causes of issues the community is facing. We focus on education and health-related projects, but are open to any area that a community is interested in working on. We work both within communities and between communities to increase understanding (locally and globally) and empower those effected by a problem to find innovative ways of solving it. Our active projects at the moment are the Greenbrier Valley in West Virginia and Cap Haitien, Haiti and the surrounding mountains. We are seeking an AmeriCorps volunteer to serve with us based out of our Lewisburg/Greenbrier Valley office in West Virginia starting September 1, 2011 and lasting for one year. This AmeriCorps position is flexible and will be involved with all areas of our work including managing the West Virginia office, running community projects and programs, strategic planning for the future, and working in partnership with our sister community in Haiti. We are looking for someone flexible, passionate, and dedicated to helping communities face and solve their own problems.
