Hoover Elementary School Garden

Our school-wide vision is to provide a nurturing, safe, supportive environment in which students will receive a rigorous curriculum aligned with the State of California content standards. Our well-defined program will optimize the learning process in all areas of the curriculum. We will utilize a variety of appropiate and effective instructional strategies and techniques (including direct instruction and cooperative learning) to develop the students' basic as well as higher-order thinking skills. Our school will produce independent thinkers who are able to apply what they have learned and become life-long learners.

The mission of the school garden program is to give students opportunities to experience the beauty and complexity of the natural world, to learn about the cycles that govern the environment, and to have agency in beautifying the campus.
