Raising HOPE Program, United Way of Ulster County

About Us

Raising HOPE (Help, Opportunity, Passion, Empowerment) is a woman’s mentoring program United Way of Ulster County created in response to a community need. Its intent is to help women in need of support develop and achieve educational and career goals in order to become financially stable and self-sufficient. Our experience has proven that having a mentor to guide, advise, and encourage is a powerful instrument of change.

Raising HOPE offers one to one mentoring for women who have run into barriers in attaining their personal, educational, and career goals.

Both Mentors and Mentees participate in specialized trainings, monthly strategy sessions, free workshops, and monthly dinners with guest speakers.

The Raising HOPE staff provides support and guidance to the pair throughout their 12-month commitment.

Mentors meet with their Mentee twice a month face to face for 1-2 hours and twice a month via text, email or phone.

Volunteer to become a Mentor today!

We encourage women with a wide range of backgrounds, education, aspirations and life experiences to apply. For more information and an application, visit the Raising HOPE page at www.ulstercountyunitedway.org or call Tasha Ortloff, Assistant Program Director at 845-331-4199 ext 5.
