    Just Transition Northwest Indiana (JTNWI) is an environmental justice organization that is organizing for a just transition to a regenerative economy in Northwest Indiana. Formed out of years of local organizing, JTNWI was established in Spring 2020.

    JTNWI is organizing to do the following:

    • build solidarity between communities and workers impacted by the NIPSCO energy transition in the Northwest Indiana Region
    • create long-term, community-centered, and worker-centered solutions
    • address the issue of coal ash pollution and other historical impacts created as a consequence of the fossil fuel industry
    • take legislative action on emerging issues at the local, state, and federal levels
