About Us

Impro’s Main Company performs completely improvised plays in the styles of the world’s greatest writers, and every performance incorporates audience suggestions. Our current repertoire includes work in the styles of Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Sondheim, Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, and many more. With no pre-planning or prepared scenarios, the performers combine verbal dexterity and robust physicality to bring character and plot to life in an instant, making each Impro Theatre show innovative, unique and unlike any other theatrical experience.

The Main Company members are also teachers at the Impro Theatre School, the home of narrative improv in Los Angeles. The School is an academy where students of all levels learn classical training and skills to improvise Impro’s core repertoire styles. We developed our own formalized curriculum that focuses on teaching artful storytelling. We also manage the Impro Studio which presents a full slate of audience programming centered around the art of narrative improv.
