Rural Community Volunteers(RCV)

Rural Community Volunteers (RCV) is a nonprofit corporation established in 2002, Its purpose is to develop action systems to address community needs coordinate available community resources and administrate programs that will improve the quality life of the childrens in the communities in volta region of Ghana The sole purpose of Rural Community Volunteers(RCV) is to provid the best service to the people who want to enjoy a great experience by working as a volunteer in Rural Communities here in Ghana. Voluntary work in Ghana can be a very rewarding activity. You will receive a warm welcome from the people of Ghana who are famous for their honesty and hospitality, You will also be an amazing diverse country.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES. 1 To promote the development of Ghanaian. 2) Support to the rural community in terms of education and environment 3 ) Raise funds for a needy children. Empower women through micro enterprise. 5 ) Help in reducing HIV/AIDS menace.

RCV currently works and support 24 orphanages childrens and will like to contrat building project homes in Ho Volta Region where it is considered the most deprived communities in Ghana.Due to extreme poverty, neglect and abuse, many children in Ghana are forced to leave their homes to live on the streets or forced into child labour and trafficking as recently reported. These children live in the streets under harsh conditions. The society also looks down upon them. Some children who have lost their parents also choose to come to the streets and lead their lives with alms.

The project aims to provide an opportunity for these needy children to live and learn under one roof until they are adopted or placed with family members who can take better care of them.

Most of the orphanages in the Volta Region are resource poor, under staffed, and are facing lots of problems to run the home. The orphanage needs extra pairs of hands to help with the day-to-day running of the project with works like cleaning, cooking and serving food to the children. Volunteers are also required to provide some basic English education to the children, and organize physical and sports lessons and assist the staff in counseling the children.

Role of Volunteer.

The job responsibilities of orphanage volunteers in Ghana depend on the need of the orphanage as well as the skills and interests of the volunteers. However, the volunteers will be involved in the following tasks:

Teach basic English Develop creative programs such as dance, arts, music, etc. Clean, cook and serve food Organize physical and sports activities Assist the staff in counseling the children

Skills Needed

The project has no specific qualification required for orphanage project .Volunteers interested to work for orphans must have love for the kids and willingness to share their time and compassion with patience and high flexibility.

The program is year round and Volunteers have the opportunity to come at any date available to them.
