Mission

 Hudson carbon is dedicated to catalyzing the adoption of regenerative organic agriculture by advancing our scientific understanding of its practices and systems, and their potential to radically reverse climate change and environmental degradation across the globe.

Vision

Our vision is a world in which good science supports an economy that properly accounts for ecosystems and the services they provide; a world in which regenerative organic agriculture is meeting the world’s demand for healthy food; and a world in which farmers are compensated for not only what they grow, but how they grow it.

Work

Hudson Carbon advances research to benefit farmers:

• We design and implement research projects within unique and innovative regenerative farming systems.
• Our projects explore the potential of these systems to sequester soil carbon, reduce GHG emissions, improve hydrologic and nutrient cycling, and enhance biodiversity.
• We build foundational datasets that support the development and scaling of these systems by providing better access to ecosystem service markets. 
• We use remote sensing, AI, and other tools to develop innovative technological solutions to solve unique and critical problems around measurement and verification of environmental outcomes.
• We are an open-source organization and take every opportunity to share our work and our data to help develop better tools to support ecosystem service markets.

Background

Hudson Carbon was founded and built by farmers dedicate to harmonizing agriculture and ecology.

Our work was borne out of a desire to fully understand and quantify the benefits of regenerative organic agriculture.

Our leadership is rooted in a deep understanding of agricultural systems, soil science, ecology, and environmental economics. 

We believe that complex, integrated, bioregional systems with clean supply chains are the only way to achieve real ecological impact in the agricultural sector.
