Catalyst Design Summer Program

About Us

The Catalyst Design Summer Program is a new and exciting approach to multi-disciplinary problem solving. The same creativity and problem-solving strategies that designers use when working on commercial projects can be used to solve important social issues. But they can’t do it alone! Complex problems require a multi-disciplinary approach. As a result, Nicole and Sahba, two graduate students at the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University are organizing a summer project in which a team of graduate and undergraduate students will work together to solve a problem for an underserved population in Boston.

In collaboration with a local non-profit organization, the team will conceive and produce a project using the unique perspectives and talents of each student. The project could result in a web site, print campaign, industrial product, organizational system; the possibilities are endless! The solution will depend entirely on the clients' specific needs.
