  • About Us

Germantown Friends (Quaker) Meeting is the monthly (Sunday) worship center for the Germantown and nearby communities within the larger city of Philadelphia. Although Friends do not have a creed, they do emphasize certain "testimonies," all of which have social implications: espeicially the testimonies regarding equality, peace, and (environmental) stewardship. Because of its location in a diverse urban neighborhood, Germantown Friends has recently been working especially on issues relating to race, economic inequality, and mass incarceration.
