    About Us

Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Inc. (Bear Necessities) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1992 by Foundation president, Kathleen A. Casey. Bear Necessities is named in memory of Kathleen's eight-year-old son, Barrett "Bear" Krupa, who died after a courageous battle with Wilms Tumor, a pediatric cancer. Bear Necessities serves pediatric cancer patients and their families by the Small Miracle Program, national pediatric cancer research projects and hospital support programs. Pediatric cancer remains the number one cause of death by disease in children.
