Lango of Prince George's County, Inc.

Lango provides foreign language classes, clubs and camps to students throughout the country via a national network of independent business owners. Our belief is that every child CAN and every child SHOULD learn a second language.

Our classes are taught using a proprietary approach called Adventure Learning which combines several proven methods of teaching a second language into one fun and extremely effective approach.

Our goal is make our program available to all families who are interested in learning Spanish, French or Mandarin Chinese in the Washington DC metropolitan area. We are in need of volunteers to teach our Mandarin and Spanish classes.

Training, curricula and all teaching materials are provided. This is a great option for bilingual students interested in working with children and assisting in underserved communities.

We are looking for volunteers willing to commit between 4 to 6 hours per week, typically afterschool to serve as Lango teachers. Teaching Certification is not required, however, all volunteers must have prior experience working with children, pass a state and federal criminal bacgkground check and have your own transportation. Due to the bonds that develop between our teachers and students, we also ask that volunteers committ to serve at least one semester (preferrably the whole school year though).

Lango will provide a gas card to volunteers who drive more than 10 miles to teach a class.
