Founded in 1958 and accredited by The American Association of Museums, Earthplace maintains a 62-acre wildlife sanctuary with more than two miles of trails, an interactive natural history museum, and live animal viewing and learning in Animal Hall and the outdoor Birds of Prey Exhibit. Earthplace is home to a state-licensed preschool, summer camp, and numerous after school nature programs for elementary through middle school children. High school interns and adult volunteer participate in Harbor Watch, our premier citizen science-driven water quality monitoring program backed by our own EPA-certified lab. With all of these resources, Earthplace offers numerous educational experiential learning programs and events for children, teens, families, and adults that provide pathways to nature and environmental understanding.
