Kids 'n Kinship Mentoring Program

Kids 'n Kinship is a local non profit agency making successful mentoring matches for over 40 years in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville & Rosemount. Our mission is to provide friendships to youth ages 5-16 who are in need of a positive adult role model. Our goal is that youth will form a long-term friendship with a resposible, consistent adult role model through their match with an individual, a couple, or a family. Youth receive positive attention, experience a variety of activites, and are helped to develop the sense of self-worth that is essential to successfully functioning in school, in healthy relationships, and eventually on the job. We seek individuals, couples & families willing to spend an hour or two a week meeting with a child for fun & enriching activities, like playing catch, walking the dog, playing board games, baking cookies, or going to a museum. We provide training, free and reduced passes to area attractions, & ongoing support. "Its our time together that's important!" says a mentor. In addition, we offer a school-based program providing academic support to an Elementary student at one of 4 schools.
