  • About Us

Schola Choral Arts (formerly Schola Cantorum on Hudson) is an independent non-profit organization, founded in 1995 by Dr. Deborah Simpkin King. We perform our full concert season in both Montclair, NJ, and Manhattan.

    Our Mission

Members of the Schola Choral Arts organization have been drawn together by a shared love of great choral music and by dedication to the highest standard of performance of that repertoire. We have a three-part mission of:

    • Musical performance (ensemble name: Ember),
    • New music advocacy (through Project: Encore), and
    • Choral music education/engagement (Phoenix Singers)
