    About Us

    The University of Michigan Health West is a 208-bed general acute care osteopathic teaching hospital that serves more than 130,000 patients in Kent County and the surrounding Grand Rapids area. Metro Health Hospital offers a broad range of expert serviecs - including an outstanding emergency department with shorter wait times, award-winning and certified inpatient and outpatient services, nationally-recognized intensive care and rehabilitation services, a robust wellness and community education program and more.

    Volunteer opportunities are available in our clinical and non-clinical areas. Volunteers donate one morning, afternoon, or evening to an assigned department to meet a minimum of 50 hours per year.
