Worldwide Ferry Safety Association

About Us

The goal of the Worldwide Ferry Safety Association is to reduce ferry fatalities in developing nations, a tragic problem in places where ferry travel is not discretionary. Causes of fatalities are poor quality vessels, poorly trained crew, overloading, and sudden hazardous weather. The Worldwide Ferry Safety Association is currently addressing these issues, with an international student design competition, now in its third year, and through an annual Ferry Safety and Design Competition. We also sponsor research and project implementation. For further information please visit our websites, www.ferrysafety.org and www.ferrysafetyconference.squarespace.com and or contact ferrysafety@gmail.com.
