City Teaching Alliance

City Teaching Alliance’s mission is to identify, prepare, and retain exceptional career educators who are empowered and equipped to make a lasting impact on the academic and life outcomes of all learners. We improve educational and life outcomes of children in urban schools by preparing culturally responsive, effective career educators who accelerate student achievement and disrupt systems of racial and socioeconomic inequity.

In partnership with leading regional universities, City Teaching Alliance participants earn a Master's degree. The curriculum is hands-on, practical, and specifically designed for urban schools. Our program emphasizes literacy and math skills and includes coursework and dual certification in special education and a content area—ensuring our teachers can meet the needs of all children. We work with school districts in Baltimore & Central Maryland, Dallas, Philadelphia, and Greater DC Metro to charter management organizations that have some of the highest starting teacher pay in the nation.
