About Us

Uganda's AIDS epidemic has resulted in 2.2 million children who have lost one or both parents, out of a population of just over 30 million. Due to a lack of government-subsidized education, extended families and orphanages face an enormous financial barrier to educating Uganda's children.

Nyaka is a haven of hope in a country ravaged by extreme poverty and disease. With 307 orphans attending two schools, Nyaka is helping to provide much needed services to AIDS orphans in rural, southwestern Uganda through the following initiatives: Microfinance Project, Nutrition and Community Gardens Program, Primary Education Program, Vocational Training Program, Community AIDS Education and Outreach Program, Health and Physical Education Program, Clean Gravity Water System, Volunteer Program, Grannies (Mukaka) Project, Religious Studies Program, Kutamba School
