    Pequot Library was founded in 1889 by Virginia Marquand Monroe and Elbert B. Monroe with the mission to deliver library services and programs that are "free as air to all."

    A destination listed on the National Register of Historic Places and dubbed a Connecticut Treasure, the Library boasts a robust Special Collections of rare books, manuscripts, and archives, and a calendar of events that offers cultural and enrichment programming for all ages.
