About Us
App Camp For Girls promotes gender equity in technology by empowering youth
and volunteers through education, community, and mentorship.
App Camp addresses the gender imbalance in technology professions by
inspiring middle-school age girls, transgender, and gender non-conforming
youth with an introduction to the process of app development. In a five day
camp we take our students through brainstorming and designing ideas to
building and pitching their very own apps. Throughout this process,
participants also meet other women, transgender, and gender non-conforming
individuals who work in the technology field. This immersive experience can
spark the enthusiasm that will propel youth to pursue further tech
education.
